When you care for another person, we understand that taking time out for yourself if you need to is important for your own health and wellbeing. Our respite breaks allow you to take a break from your caring role, while the person you care for is looked after by someone else in the comfort of their own home.
Crossroads provides respite breaks for carers living within the Birmingham area, who care for people with dementia or those who have a palliative condition. This is a free service, funded by Birmingham and Solihull CCG.
We recognise the importance of feeling that your family member is in safe hands. We pride ourselves on the quality of care our staff provide, which is person-centred to meet the needs of individuals.
Your respite will be planned weekly, in breaks of 2 to 3 hours or for a member of our staff to stay with your loved one overnight to allow you have a break – to recharge your batteries. We will review your situation after six weeks, to assess if your circumstances have changed and to see how we can help further.
Respite breaks can be delivered flexibly to suit your needs. For more information, in the first instance, please contact our Deputy Care Manager on 0121 553 6483 who will be happy to provide more information. Alternatively, please complete a referral form.
