Carers Rights Day 2021

Carers Rights Day 2021

Every year Carers Rights Day, an initiative from Carers UK, encourages unpaid carers to find out about their rights and how to get the help and support they need. This year Carers Rights Day is on Thursday 25th November 2021.

Many people care for a loved one on a daily basis, often unpaid, whilst still dealing with their own lives and families. The pandemic has put additional pressures on carers, in some cases resulting in increased time spent caring. We want to take this opportunity to remind carers about the help that they are entitled to and the many ways that Crossroads can support them.

Our Carers Assistance Line offers a caring, listening ear as well as practical support to informal carers living in Sandwell, we offer a wellbeing service for all age carers in Dudley and specialist support services for carers of someone with dementia in Sandwell and Birmingham, and much more. Take a look around our website to see which of our teams may be able to help you.

Caring for another person is an incredibly difficult thing to do and we want carers to know how and when their rights are not being met and how they can challenge this. We want to empower carers with information and support, so they can feel confident asking for what they need. We hope that by raising awareness on this important day, more people will be able to access vital help and resources when they need it.
