Crossroads were recently joined by Greets Green and Lyng Councillor, Jackie Taylor, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing.

Cllr. Taylor paid a visit to the Crossroads Carers Hub in Oldbury, where she had a tour of the facilities and chatted to staff about the help and support that they provide to unpaid carers in the community. She heard all about the care at home that Crossroads provide, alongside support for unpaid carers, including advice and information, carers groups and a Day Club, which offers a welcoming and secure place for adults with care needs to enjoy a change of scenery, do a variety of activities and enjoy a hot meal.

The visit concluded with Cllr. Taylor joining Crossroads colleagues and members of their regular carers group for a lunch of turkey with all the trimmings. Here she chatted to local families about the essential support that Crossroads has provided to help people with their caring role, whist enabling those with care needs to stay in their own homes for longer.

Chris Christie, Crossroads CEO said, “We were delighted to welcome Cllr. Taylor to Crossroads. It was a pleasure to showcase our Carers Hub and all that we can offer to help improve the health and wellbeing of carers in Sandwell and surrounding areas.”
