New Online Support Service Launches for Carers

Crossroads Caring for Carers are pleased to introduce new online tools which offer more ways for unpaid carers in Sandwell and beyond, to access information and support services.

The new online support pages and virtual assistant are a welcome addition to the Crossroads website and are an accessible and convenient way for family carers of all ages to get the support they need to carry out their caring role.

Providing valuable information all in one place, from the very first step of identifying yourself as a carer, through to financial and legal information, home environment and physical and emotional health, the site is full of helpful tips and guidance, including links to local and national organisations and useful videos.

Chris Christie, CEO at Crossroads said: “Unpaid carers provide invaluable support to those they look after. But there are many people that provide care to family members or friends that aren’t accessing the support available to them. That’s why we’ve developed our free online support tools that have been specifically tailored for their needs.

In particular, we hope to provide information which will help carers to make positive changes to their lifestyle so they’re better able to care – combining tips from health experts and carers themselves that we have spoken to, all in one place and can be dipped in and out of as time allows. And of course, for those who want to meet our team members or other carers in person, details about our popular carer support groups can be found easily too”

The virtual assistant can also quickly answer frequently asked questions, providing instant information, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whilst also signposting people to useful phone numbers for our teams and other local services.
