Why Support Crossroads?
There are 8.8million* unpaid adult carers in the UK who make an invaluable contribution to people in need, to their families and communities, as well as society as a whole. Unpaid care saves the UK £132 billion per year. (*Figures from Carers Trust).
This enormous contribution made by carers often goes unnoticed. Carers care quietly in their own homes, away from the public eye and many people fail to recognise or acknowledge the support they give. Little is said about how difficult it is to make time to care for someone and how physically as well as mentally draining it can be, frequently taking its toll on the private and professional life of the carer, as well as their health and wellbeing.
How can you support Crossroads?
As a charity, we value the support of those who are able to make a donation to us. Donations go directly towards our work with carers and their families. Whether its a one-off or regular donation, big or small, every single donation makes a huge difference to the lives of carers of all ages, allowing us to continue supporting family carers in their role and help those being cared for to stay in their own home for longer.
Below are a list of ways in which you can help to make a positive difference to the lives of carers in the West Midlands –
